On completion of a School Grounds Development Project you will receive a package of information which is designed to help you illustrate your ideas to potential funders. It shows that your ideas have been well thought out, planned & designed and have the backing of your local authority. You will also recieve a useful guide to making funding applications. The Final Report also contains details of several comprehensive funding databases. We have a copy of one database called Funder Finder here in our office. You may wish to come in and use it after working with us on a project. Details of other databases are available here:

Before trawling these huge databases, we recommend that schools in County Durham visit the Durham Schools Extranet, where you will find a more tailored list of funding opportunities under the Document Library heading.

CSV Action Earth Up to £50 to involve volunteers in a wildlife project.

Bridging the Gap £500 to £10,000 awared to former coal mining communities.

The Ernest Cook Trust Up to £3,000 for projects featuring the arts and rural environment.

October

B&Q Better Neighbour Grants £50 to £500 to get community projects up and running.

November

BT Schools Award Money towards projects in Citizenship and communication.

December

Volvo Young Environmentalist Awards £500 for projects linked to the environment.
