Purchasing Policy

The EWE Centre's purchasing policy encourages sustainable development. The refreshments we buy are where possible fairly traded, locally sourced and organic.

However, we also consider the miles travelled by the food; organic is not always best if the product has, for example, been flown half way around the world and we can buy a non organic, locally grown alternative. We hope you enjoy the refreshments we provide.

We have produced a simple information sheet to highlight the issues. We are keen for you to take back these messages to your own school or organisation and investigate your own practice and see where you could become more sustainable.
