While replacing some signs at Esh Winning School a common pipistrelle bat was found to be roosting behind the one above the main entrance.

The sign was left until John Hutchison from Durham bat group came out and checked that all was well. While John was checking the bat it warmed up enough to fly off before it could be returned behind the new sign. We will be checking to see if it returns this evening. For more information on bats visit Durham Bat Groups website www.durhambats.org.uk

Also thanks to Clovis Lande for supplying a poly tunnel for the growing area and Laing O Rourke for being very sustainable and donating unwanted materials from one of their building sites in Durham.
